Must be at least 15 & entering grades 9-12.
A food handler is a food service employee who works with unpackaged food, food equipment or utensils, or food contact surfaces, such as hostesses, kitchen staff, bussers, etc.
The Texas Department of State Health Services, under the Texas Food Establishment Rules, requires that “all food employees shall successfully complete an accredited food handlers training course, within 60 days of employment. Certification is good for 2 years.
In addition to the Food Handler Training, youth are invited to stay for lunch and attend the Texas Friendly Hospitality Training on June 2nd from 11:45 p.m. – 2 p.m. at the Community Center. It is included in registration.
